Flashback Friday! Here is a clip of Foray Forêt in 1993 at the Zellerbach Auditorium at the University of California Berkeley. Foray Forêt is one of Trisha Brown’s most requested works. It features gold costumes by Robert Rauschenberg, an open stage, and a marching band that plays John Philip Sousa music outside the walls of the theater.
“Foray Forêt …is one of her most sophisticated, subtle and delicate and also one of her most elusive [works]. Even for a choreographer like Brown, who likes to disturb the order of things, this one fractures our cozy notions of esthetic perception.” Mike Steele, Star Tribune
